Looking back at two outstanding SORG Courses

In July 2025, two outstanding SORG courses took place, offering participants valuable insights into modern CMF surgery. In Agra, India, 28 OMF residents joined the satellite course „The compound comminuted mandible” during the MIDCOMS conference, featuring interactive workshops with bone models.

Just a few days earlier, 18 participants gathered in Tübingen, Germany for the two-day „SORG Maultäschle Course,” focusing on surgical approaches through detailed dissections on human cadavers. Both events provided intensive training that combined theory and practice while fostering scientific exchange. In addition to enhancing surgical skills, they also strengthened international collaboration and networks. A heartfelt thank you goes to all organizers, faculty, and participants who made these inspiring learning experiences possible.

On July 10, 2025, 28 enthusiastic OMF residents participated in the SORG satellite course on „The compound comminuted mandible“ on the occasion of the MIDCOMS conference in Agra, India.

Under the lectures and instructions of Course Chairman and European SORG Trauma Section Chair Dr. Niall McLeod as well as the two SORG India Regional Group Leader Dr. Saruchi Agrawal and Prof. Pushkar Waknis, in-depth insights into theory and practice could be gained in the form of diverse hands-on workshops with bone models, which will accompany the participants in their further training.

On July 3 – 4, SORG ran the SORG Maultäschle Course in Tübingen, Germany.

Under the theme „Surgical approaches – the smart path to the fracture", 18 participants engaged in a two-day hands-on course on human cadavers.

Through detailed anatomical dissections and practical guidance, attendees deepened their understanding of safe, function-preserving, and aesthetically favorable surgical approaches.

A heartfelt thank you to the University of Tübingen, especially to the Institute of Anatomy, the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and all passionate instructors and participants for this inspiring scientific exchange and for sharing our commitment to excellence in CMF surgery.

Watch out for further SORG training activities in the future. You will be more than welcome!
