  • The importance of primary free flap reconstruction and the proportion of head and neck cancer patients, who finally receive successful occlusal rehabilitation in European and worldwide centres (Mertens)
  • Advantages of placing implants immediately after ablative surgery – biology of irradiation damage (Raghoebar)
  • Surgical oncology, primary versus secondary reconstruction, and its organization in certified head and neck multidisciplinary tumour boards in accordance with the German Cancer Society (Terheyden)
  • Discussion

  • Preservation of natural teeth and prevention of dental caries and xerostomia through irradiation, chemotherapy and modern immune therapies (Stadlinger)

    • d) How can we increase the proportion of head and neck cancer patients with a completed successful occlusal rehabilitation?
  • Plenary discussion and formulation of a “SORG Resolution” for the importance of occlusal rehabilitation of cancer patients and need for research and advancement of the field
