Diagnostic and management principles of benign and malignant disease processes affecting the head and neck were covered, including updates on the management of osteoradionecrosis and medication related osteonecrosis.   Reconstructive options ranging from local flaps to free tissue transfer options were covered in detail.  New topics were introduced, including an excellent review on the evaluation of margin status by Dr. Kelly Magliocca, who is dually qualified in oral pathology and OMS, and virtual surgical planning by Dr. Steven Roser, Chair of OMS at Emory. 

Discussions amongst faculty members during question and answer sessions offered insights in to the clinical decision-making and diverse approaches to complex problems faced by clinicians dealing with the realities of head and neck pathology.  Aside from the lecture hall, attendees took advantage of multiple opportunities to interact with faculty during group lunches, the Friday night reception, and the popular group dinner Saturday night.
